![]() Shani first made the Great Britain Athletics Team aged 17 and went on to represent Great Britain for over 11 years. Her accomplishments include competing in the 100m and 4x100m relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and winning a bronze medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Shani holds two national titles in the 200m and currently coaches athletics, including Commonwealth and European Silver medallist, Jade Johnson. |
In addition to her own training, Shani has become a REPS level 3 qualified Personal Trainer, a UK Athletics certified athletics coach (level 2) and a British Amateur Weightlifting Leaders Association coach. She is able to combine her training skills as a former athlete with her knowledge as a Personal Trainer to develop specific and challenging sessions for her clients. Her clients see results quickly and are able to incorporate her training techniques long term.

´´Since I started working in the city four years ago, exercise slowly disappeared from my schedule. ´´I had been going to gyms for the past 10 years or so, but never really pushed myself hard, and consequently the results were insignificant. When Shani started her personal training in the gym in our apartment block, I decided that perhaps it was time to get some coaching in how to utilise the equipment properly, and also have someone challenge me and force me to push my body harder. My overall goal was to improve my general fitness, tone my muscles, work on my posture, and if I could lose weight in the process then that would be a bonus. I have been working out with Shani for the past 6 weeks, and have found her to be extremely knowledgeable in all matters of fitness and health thanks to her past experience as an elite athlete and coach. The sessions were never boring, as she varied the workouts, and altered them to cater to any injuries or muscle soreness. She was extremely motivating and supportive, which made it easier to stay enthused and focused. At the end of the 6 weeks I feel I have achieved my goals - my muscles have toned considerably, my waist, leg and chest measurements have improved, I have lost a few pounds, but most importantly I have gained the confidence and enthusiasm to continue to challenge myself in the gym. ´´I trained with Shani for six weeks and really noticed dramatic results! The programmes were hard but she is fun, so it isn't as painful as it should be. That said, I could always feel the burn for a few days after we trained. I enjoy running and spin, but found it easier to motivate myself to do weights under Shani's guidance. She is great at writing up programmes, following your progress and keeping you motivated. She also has an extensive knowledge of how the body works, and therefore works on your posture, stretching and can even help with dietary tips.
